This is the syrup of your dreams! Drizzle this warm cheesecake like syrup over a stack of pancakes or waffles!
Have you ever wanted a cheesecake like syrup to drizzle over your pancakes? Then you absolutely have to try this recipe! It super easy and will satisfy your sweet tooth!
How to make:
- In a pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the sugar and heat to boiling.
- Whisk in the buttermilk and boil for 1 minute.
- Either whisk in the cream cheese OR place the cream cheese in a bowl and beat the hot syrup into the cream cheese until smooth then return it to the pot. If you choose to whisk the cream cheese in, it will leave lumps which really isn't a big deal. You could however use an emulsion blender to blend the lumps in.
- Whisk in the baking soda and vanilla.
- The syrup will puff up high and fluffy.
- Serve immediately.
How to store:
Store leftover syrup in the fridge for up to a week.
What kind of pancakes to drizzle this syrup over:
You could use this syrup with regular Buttermilk Pancakes, however, I highly recommend having it on these Carrot Cake Pancakes or these Zucchini Bread Pancakes! They go together perfectly in every way!
