Why You'll Love This Recipe

  • Chocolate peanut butter ritz crackers are yummy treats not just for the Christmas season. You can eat these anytime of the year!

Ingredient Notes and Substitutions

  • Dipping Chocolate - I usually melt 10 oz of Ghirardelli dark chocolate wafers with roughly 5 oz of Ghiradelli milk chocolate wafers or milk chocolate chips in a pinch. The milk chocolate takes the edge of the dark chocolate and softens the set up chocolate just enough so it's not too brittle. You can substitute chocolate almond bark for the dipping chocolate.
  • Peanut Butter - You'll want to use creamy peanut butter. Almond Butter can be used in place of the peanut butter.
  • Ritz Crackers - It shouldn't have to be said, but, this recipe uses the regular ritz crackers. Garlic butter ritz are not a good substitute. Also wouldn't use bacon onion flavored ones.

  • OR How to Melt Chocolate Without a Double Boiler but using a double boiler method.
  • You don't need dipping tools. Take a sturdy plastic fork and break out the center 2 prongs.
  • After the melted chocolate coating and drizzles cool, these treats can be stored in an airtight container and frozen from several months. These aren't just for the holiday season.

How to Make Step by Step Instructions:

  • Pour the dark chocolate and the milk chocolate into a melting pot and turn on to melt the chocolate while you prepare the crackers.
  • Next make the peanut butter crackers peanut butter sandwich style.
  • Spread a generous amount of creamy peanut butter on one cracker and place another cracker on the top of the peanut butter.
  • Place each sandwich cookie on a small cookie sheet. Stacking them up is fine.
  • Put the ritz cracker sandwiches in the freezer for at least 30 minutes before dipping them in the melted chocolate.
  • For easy dipping I use a sturdy plastic fork and break out the center prongs.
  • Dip each peanut butter ritz in the melted chocolate and let the excess chocolate drip off.

  • Place the dipped crackers on a sheet of wax paper or parchment paper to cool and harden.
  • If you want a more festive look then melt some red and/or green candy melts and drizzle them over the cooled chocolate dipped peanut butter ritz.
  • White chocolate could be drizzled in place of colored candy melts.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature, in the fridge or in the freezer. Any way you choose is fine!
