Soft "Crumbl" Oreo Cookies

Make your favorite crumbl cookies from scratch at home with this copycat recipe! These soft cookies made from crushed Oreos and frosted with cream cheese frosting are as melt in your mouth delicious as they are easy! I think they may even be better than Crumbl chocolate chip cookies or Crumbl sugar cookies!

Ingredient Notes

  • Oreos- regular, not thins, not double, triple, or mega stuffed.
  • Butter - both salted and unsalted are fine.
  • Flour - all purpose flour, never self rising.

How to Make Step by Step Recipe Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  • Line baking sheets with parchment paper or lightly spray them with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Crush 24 Oreos (filling and cookie part) to fine crumbs in a food processor or blender.
  • You should end up with 2 cups of crumbs.
  • Dump the crumbs in a large bowl or in the mixing bowl of a stand mixer.
  • Add the sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, salt and flour.
  • Whisk the dry ingredients to mix.

  • Add the softened 6 Tbs butter, egg and vanilla.
  • Mix well.
  • At first you will wonder if the dough is too dry but don't worry, just keep mixing. It takes a minute but will come together like picture 8.
  • Scoop out in 1 ½ Tbs cookie dough balls spacing 2-3 inches apart (12 to a pan) on a prepared cookie sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven at 350 degrees for 9 minutes. DO NOT overbake or they will be crunchy instead of soft! Decrease the bake time by a minute if you already know your oven runs a little hot.
  • Cool completely on a cooling rack before frosting.
Add the egg, butter and vanilla, mix well, scoop and bake.

  • For the cream cheese frosting beat room temperature cream cheese and 4 Tbs butter well.
  • Beat in the vanilla.
  • Beat in the powdered sugar.
  • Once the powdered sugar is beaten in, scrape down the sides of the bowl and beat at a high speed to make the frosting fluffy.

  • Fill a frosting bag fitted with a #12 tip and pipe the cream cheese frosting in a swirl pattern on each cooled cookie. The frosting will melt off a warm cookie.
  • Crush an additional 3 oreos and sprinkle the crumbs on the top of the cookies.
  • Serve!
  • Store in the fridge.

There are 36 regular oreos in a standard package, 48 in the family size package and 63 in the party package.

Do these cookies freeze well?

If you wish to freeze these cookies chill them well in the fridge to set the frosting before packaging up and freezing. In the fridge.

What do I do if I accidently overbaked the cookies?

Don't panic! If you go ahead and frost these cookies and allow them to sit for 12 or so hours they will soften up and still be the best cookie you'll ever eat!

Description

Ingredients

  12. Bake at 350 degrees for 9 minutes.

  15. Beat in the vanilla.
  16. Beat in the powdered sugar.
