Why You'll Love This Recipe
- Easy! Just 3 Ingredients!
- This is the best way to enjoy the flavor of sautéed mushrooms without the frying pan!
- This also makes a great appetizer or an easy holiday side dish!
Ingredient Notes
- Mushrooms - This recipe is for fresh mushrooms. I usually use crimini mushrooms because they are my favorite and most readily available in the area I live, however you can use white button mushrooms, porcini mushrooms, shitake mushrooms, white mushrooms, portabello mushrooms or baby bellas. If you don't like the mushroom stems you can just use the mushroom caps.
- Butter - Both salted butter and unsalted butter work for this recipe.
- Italian Dressing Mix - You will just be using the powdered mix. Don't mix up the dressing.
Couple Things You Need!
How to make:
- All you need to make this slow cooker Italian mushroom recipe is a crockpot ( I used my 2.5 quart one), 1 lb. mushrooms, a stick of butter and a packet of Italian dressing mix.
- Rinse the mushrooms well making sure they're free of dirt from the bottom of their stems to the top of the mushrooms.
- There's no need to dry them just dump them in the crockpot or slow cooker.
- Melt the butter carefully in the microwave.
- Pour the melted butter over the mushrooms.
- Sprinkle in the packet of Italian dressing mix.
- Put the crockpot lid on.
- Set the temperature to low and cook for 4 hours.
- After 4 hours, give the mushrooms a good stir and serve on the side of your favorite recipes or as an appetizer garnished with fresh parsley!
- To store, drain the liquid from the crockpot and put the mushrooms in an airtight container in the fridge. Reheat in the microwave the next day.

My husband said these mushrooms need to be in his life at least once a week for the rest of his life, lol! They are SO good. We've had them twice since the recipe was posted! I didn't plan for them the other night, so instead of the slow cooker, I ended up doing them on warm on the stovetop in a saucepan with a lid.
