Many of you are enjoying my Instant Pot Tuna Noodle Casserole and Instant Pot Chicken Chili so I wanted to give you another instant pot meal to add to your collection. This Instant Pot Spicy Mac and Cheese is as delicious as it is easy! You can adjust the amount of red pepper flakes for your desired amount of heat. This dish can have a nice spicy kick or it can melt your face off! Totally up to you! Let me know how you like this hot and cheesy meal!
How to make spicy mac and cheese:
- Combine the pasta shells, broth and seasonings in your instant pot.
- Seal the lid and cook on high for 4 minutes.
- Quick release the steam.
- Open lid and stir in the bacon, cheese, and ½ cup milk.
- Put the lid back on and let sit for 5 minutes.
- Open the lid and stir. Add more milk if needed.
- Serve!
What is the best cheese for this mac and cheese?
For this particular dish I like the pre-shredded Queso Quesidillas Cheese Blend that I can find at WalMart. It melts smoother and has the perfect amount of flavor. You can substitute other cheeses though.
How do I reheat mac and cheese?
You can carefully reheat this in the microwave or in an oven preheated to 350 degrees. You may need to add a little milk to your reheated mac and cheese to regain the proper consistency.

- 16 oz Box of Small or Medium Shells
- 4 cups Chicken Broth
- ½ Tbs. Garlic Powder
- ½ Tbs. Oregano
- ½-1 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes (½ tsp for hot and 1 tsp for burn your face off)

- 1 (2.5 oz) bag of Bacon Pieces
- 3 cups of shredded Queso Quesadillas Cheese
- ½-1 cup Milk

Notes
You can substitute 2 Tbs. of McCormick's Tasty Cheesy Seasoning Blend for the garlic powder, oregano and red pepper flakes.
I find the shredded queso cheese at WalMart. You can use pretty much any cheese in it's place though. The queso just melts in smoother.
