Fried Breakfast Scones

Dripping with butter and honey or sprinkled with powdered sugar, fried breakfast scones are simple, quick and impossible to resist!

Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ Cups Flour
  • 1 ½ Tbs . Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 ¼ Cups Warm Milk
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  • Begin heating up the oil you will be frying your scones in to 350 degrees.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients.
  • Stir in the milk. Stir until a sticky dough forms.
  • Dump dough onto a floured surface. Give the dough a quick knead or two, then roll or pat it out into a rectangle shape ¼ to ½ inch thick.
  • Cut into roughly 12 rectangle pieces.
  • Brush off the excess flour and fry each piece until golden brown on each side. Remove from the oil and place on a plate lined with a paper towel.
  • Serve hot with butter, honey, cinnamon sugar, powdered sugar, or jam.
